Christopher Peter Meloni has been an acclaimed American actor for many years. He is most known for the roles he played in "Law and the Special Victims Unit". He discovered his love for acting in his early days at school and then pursued acting studies at The University of Colorado at Boulder. Although he's been in films as well as on TV but it's the character actors on smaller screens which have earned him acclaim. This is not surprising since his characters have been able to capture the attention of viewers by playing characters that are either sides of the legal system. The first show he worked on was a television serial, however, he was later an officer for the NYPD. The actor has been nominated several times for prestigious Emmy Awards and the PRISM Awards for his smaller screen performances. He is famous for his blue-piercing eyes, which have become an iconic feature and have helped to create a charismatic character for tough roles. People's magazine listed him as one of the Sexiest Men Alive for 2006.
